WelcomeHere at the crop IPM entomology lab in Western Nebraska, we are dedicated to serving farmers and other stakeholders in agriculture by providing up-to-date pest management information and resources through research and extension. Our mission is to develop pest management practices that benefit farmers while keeping farming sustainable for the generations to come. We aim to better understand the interactions between insects and common crops grown in the Panhandle region under the constantly changing climate and technology.
What is IPM?IPM stands for Integrated Pest Management. This is a management system that involves scouting and identifying pests, setting thresholds for pesticide applications, and integrating multiple management tactics. The IPM framework promotes agriculture sustainability by preserving ecological functions and effectiveness of pesticides.
